Layout:

The Wyoming Rail Link (WRL) is a fictional regional railroad concept based on the premise that Montana Rail Link owner, Washington Corporation, acquired the BNSF (former BN and CB&Q) Casper subdivision in central Wyoming during the late 1990's. The layout depicts the mainline between Bonneville and Greybull, including the dramatic Wind River Canyon. Staging represents Casper on the east end, and Laurel, Montana on the west. The WRL operates the former Casper subdivision as the 12th subdivision. Also modeled is a fictional junction for a mainline route to Rock Springs, Wyoming and an interchange with the Union Pacific. This fictional route is the 13th subdivision.

Traffic on the WRL features a healthy mix of local way freights, WRL manifest trains that block swap at Bonneville and Greybull, a Montana Rail Link inspired "Gas Local" and various run through BNSF trains. The WRL also originates unit trains of molten sulpher and soda ash. Other major commodities shipped include cement, lumber products, raw bentonite and some grain.
